UK Conformity Assessed — the UK's post-Brexit replacement for CE marking.
UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is the UK's replacement for CE marking, required for most goods placed on the Great Britain market (England, Scotland, and Wales). UKCA marking has been required since 1 January 2021, with the government extending recognition of CE marking for certain products indefinitely. Products must meet UK-specific technical standards and be accompanied by a UK Declaration of Conformity.
Examples
- • A seller offering electronics in the UK may need UKCA marking; however, the UK government currently accepts CE marking for most products indefinitely.
- • Products for the Northern Ireland market require CE marking (or CE + UKNI marking) due to the Windsor Framework.
- • Amazon UK accepts both CE and UKCA markings for relevant product categories, but sellers must check current UK government guidance.
