Standards Association of Australia — certification for electrical products in Australia.
SAA (Standards Association of Australia) approval is the regulatory compliance pathway for electrical products sold in Australia. Now managed by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), products must meet Australian safety standards (based on AS/NZS standards) and carry the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM). The RCM mark replaced the older C-Tick and A-Tick marks for electrical safety and EMC compliance.
Examples
- • A seller importing electrical appliances to Australia must ensure products meet AS/NZS safety standards and carry the RCM mark.
- • Products on Amazon Australia must comply with Australian electrical safety requirements; non-compliant listings may be removed.
- • A manufacturer must register with the national database and hold a Certificate of Conformity before selling regulated electrical products in Australia.
