ASIN

Amazon Standard Identification Number — a unique 10-character code for each product on Amazon.
ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) is a 10-character alphanumeric identifier assigned by Amazon to each product listed on its platform. ASINs are unique to each Amazon marketplace (a product listed on Amazon US and Amazon UK will have different ASINs). Sellers use ASINs for product identification, inventory management, advertising campaigns, and tax reporting.
Examples
- • A seller listing a wireless charger on Amazon US is assigned a unique ASIN (e.g., B08XYZ1234) that differs from the ASIN for the same product on Amazon UK.
- • Amazon tax reports reference ASINs to track sales volume and revenue by product, which sellers use for VAT/sales tax filing.
- • Multiple sellers can list under the same ASIN, which is common for branded products already on Amazon.
