Fumigation Certificate
Category: documentation
A document certifying that wooden packing materials have been treated against pests.
A fumigation certificate is a document confirming that wood packaging materials (pallets, crates) have been treated with fumigants or heat treatment to kill pests, in compliance with ISPM 15. It is required for international shipments using wood packaging.
Examples
- • Wooden pallets used for shipping to the EU must have IPPC stamps and fumigation certificates.
- • ISPM 15 requires either heat treatment (HT) or methyl bromide fumigation (MB) of wood packaging.
- • Shipment rejection at customs due to missing fumigation certificates can cost thousands in delays.
